That'd be weird considering many X-folk are MvC staples (and heck, MvC grew out of an X-Men fighting game) but hmm. Rumours from shortly before this weekend's announcement, picked up by Polygon, claimed that this Marvel's half of this new game would focus on characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe - which doesn't include the X-Men. Infinite's six characters revealed so far are Ryu out Street Fighter, Morrigan from Darkstalkers, Mega Man X, Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel. Capcom say their Stones grant powers of "power, space, time, reality, soul, and mind" so it sounds like they're straying from canon. Malachite is shielding, pyromorphite powers astral projection, topaz is flipping vicious when swung in a sock, and so on. The Infinity Stones, True Believers will already know, were created by Galactus for his crystal therapy practice in Hebden Bridge. Each player can pick one Stone to use in a battle, each giving different abilities and perks. While MvC3 had players pick three characters each, Infinite will take it back down to 2v2 but add a selection of Infinity Stones with unique powers.
